I’ve mentioned previously that my CFO has a Lotus Emira. Well, after relentless pestering he finally joined the local Lotus club…
The day after joining, he went on a club run from Arvada, up into the hills, and ending at Oskar Blues in Longmont – and seems to have had a good time. Enough of a good time to put his car in the British car show up at Oak Park in Arvada today.
He texted at a quarter to eight asking if I’d like to go – of course I’d like to go! But I had an appointment to have the front wheels rebalanced on the Hellcat at 10 – so I told him I’d meet him up there afterward.
At about 9am Gary from the tire shop texted and said he was super short staffed today and he was going to have to put me off to Tuesday afternoon… So a few minutes later I was on the road to the show.
I parked the Hellcat in the parking lot of the nearby school and had about ten minutes of 1-car car-show as lots of people walking past to the show stopped to admire the car and/or ask questions… I eventually put my show sign on the dash, which has the year and some specifications on it (2017, narrow body, 2018 redeye drive train, etc), and then wandered down to the show.
I met up with my CFO, and then after his club meeting we wandered the place eyeballing everything… It was about 600 cars, so there was a lot to eyeball! I took a mess of photos, but in the interest of brevity (and website storage space) – here are just a few:

I took off at about a quarter to one and headed back to the house, stopping by Chubby’s for a beef and bean smothered half-and-half for lunch/dinner. It was delicious as always, and now I’m fighting off a food coma that I may succumb to as soon as I press ‘save’…
