Driving a full-size supercharged American race car, you develop new hobbies… One of mine is the gas discount mini-game, where I see just how much I can get off of a gallon of gas when I fill up every other week.
This morning I set a new personal record:
- $0.10 for being a Shell “Platinum” member
- $0.22 for is being Sunday, which is NASCAR race day for Shell
- $0.35 for buying some munchies inside the gas station last fill up
So, a $0.67 per gallon discount today – and that’s not factoring the 4% I get back on the $50 I spent because I put it on my Shell gas card. Which is another $2 in this case, or an additional $0.16 per gallon discount.
The games you play when gas is pushing $5 a gallon and you drive a car that gets 14mpg on average. 🙂
