Got the car back from the dealership this afternoon – turns out the issue was either a loose ‘star connector’ (CAN bus interface block) or the OBD dongle for the Waylens.
I didn’t even think about the OBD dongle being the culprit as it’s read-only and pretty simplistic, but it sent me to the Internet and – yep – other people have had similar issues.
Either way, the car is fine now; drove around with my CFO a bit and no issues – so I’m guessing it’ll be okay.
Now to go wash it. It sat outside at the dealership for the last six days and it’s rained just enough to cover the car in mud…
